To kick off the summer with a BANG, thousands of women flock to the shores of Miami for the annual Aqua Girl festivities. Aqua Girl is the largest women’s charity event in the country, which kicks-off in May of each year.
We had the privilege of covering their highly anticipated annual Saturday pool party. Tons of women, fun, entertainment, warmth and joy filled the air as women took a plunge toward an amazing cause.

About Aqua Girl:
The AQUA Foundation for women provides much-needed funding for grants and scholarships given to lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people in South Florida. Once a year the AQUA GIRL fundraising week fills South Beach with an exciting series of pool parties, cocktail gatherings, a jazz brunch and comedy show with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the AQUA campaign. One of the largest women’s weeks in the country, the parties by day and dances by night attract beautiful women from around the world.
The Aqua Girl concept for women who love women was originally created in 1999 when Alison Burgos, (now co-owner of Pandora Events which creates unique events for women across the country) and Shescape produced a one-night event to benefit breast cancer research.
